What I did was to install TinyProxy because it was small and lightweight and wouldn't affect the performance of the web server very much. TinyProxy has an anonymous mode which allows you to control which headers get sent to the website you are requesting. If you want more community support or much more documentation, you could use a more full-featured proxy software such as Squid. Squid also allows for anonymity with the access_headers controls. I have linked a couple of tutorials on how to set this up below. Both of these pieces of proxy software are free in both senses of the word. Owning a server to run them on is usually not free. Apart from running your own proxy server, the best way to achieve anonymity is by using Tor.
